Tropical Storm Colin decided to make an appearance on Day 1 of our beach vacation! We were a little worried about how the week would go, but this beautiful little cottage was the perfect home base! We took advantage of the comfy interior and listened to the rain and wind while watching movies and enjoying being together. When the rain cleared a bit, we headed down to the beach and set up camp. It was so wonderful to just be able to walk back and forth to the cottage any time we needed anything or to make lunch or just get out of the sun for a bit. We lost power for a few hours, but the management company was very responsive and even called several times to check to make sure that it was back on. If the property is still available next summer, we will be back! Thank you for a great week, despite T.S. Colin!

Interesting older cottage, steps to the best beach spot on the Island, The cottage is so comfortable, clean and attractive we felt relaxed and at home right away. Spaces available from porch and living room to big table to roomy kitchen were so accommodating and beds were very comfortable. Tropical trees and plant life provide an exotic privacy border to nest the cottage into its secluded spot between other homes. Best of all, it is just steps away from what we feel was the nicest, most remote stretch of beach on the island. We rented 2 paddle boards and glided right over fevers of sting rays and schools of tarpon– breathtaking. We walked down the beach with Manatee, and enjoyed pristine sand and clear water for an island paradise! At the end of the day, festive eateries were an easy walk away, without a need to drive. What a spot!

Our only complaint was that we had to leave!! Our experience from start to finish was flawless. I would absolutely recommend this agency and home.

Love, love, love this place. Feels like home after a very fast four weeks! This is the best part of this lovely island and it is just a slice of heaven! We’ll miss our morning and afternoon walks on the beach, the sunrises and sunsets.

What a Great Experience! As I was looking for a place to stay on AMI I came across Whispering Pines and this quaint cottage caught my eye, I kept coming back to it as I was searching. I was planning a trip for our 25th anniversary and wanted it to be special. Staying in this cottage surely made it special! The pictures were spot on – exactly what you saw when you got there. Close to the beach, chairs & cooler, completely outfitted kitchen. We did not want to leave at the end of the week. Working with Coastal Cottages AMI Vacation Rentals was great, they helped make our anniversary very special. We will definitely return to the island and will use CC AMI Vacation Rentals again.

What an adorable cottage! I could stay here forever! So charming and comfortable. Love the old charm with a touch of modern. This was our family get-together for the weekend and our first visit to AMI. The best places: the beach, The Donut Experiment, The Waterfront Restaurant, and Ginny & Jane E’s.

Arrived to severe floods which shortly cleared and after this the 3 nights/4days were glorious sunshine. There was a smell in the villa on arrival but apart from this the decor, location, supplies and overall villa were stunning. We especially enjoyed using the outdoor shower after long hot days on the beautiful beach. We loved the Sandbar, Waterfront & Beachouse for evening meals and seeing the sunset made it even better. Anna Maria City Pier was a nice to relax with a beer and hire fishing rods. We seen dolphins on the 2 occasions we were there. Our overall experience of this beautiful Island is something we will never forget and hopefully one day we will return.

Stunning little cottage and beautifully appointed! Although the weather could have been a tad sunnier, we had a blast. This is our seventh vacation together, four high school girlfriends who reconnected about 10 years ago. We’ll definitely be back to this sweet little gem.

We had the most wonderful stay at Whispering Pines, a beautiful cottage on Anna Maria Island. It couldn’t have been more perfect. My parents, my two 12 year-olds and I thoroughly enjoyed this charming cottage, a few steps from the beach. It had the elegance and charisma of a true Florida bungalow, with all the upgrades of hotel styling living. We especially loved sitting on the screened in back porch during the day and at night. What a treat! Tura and her CCAMI Team is world class, experts on service and comfort. I would HIGHLY recommend her and Coastal Cottages. They will find your specific Perfectly Charming accommodations too!!

Whispering Pines is an updated and classic Florida home. We traveled with one young child and we all had more than enough space to relax. The beautiful shores of the beach are just steps away. The house came furnished with everything you could need for relaxing at the house as well as heading out to the beach for the day. Beach towels, coolers, beach chairs and an umbrella were all available to use during the stay. The awesome staff at Coastal Cottages AMI were very easy to work with – even when booking shortly before our arrival. We would highly recommend this location to anyone and look forward to returning!

Perfect street for north end Island lovers. No bathtub, but home is clean overall with just enough modern updates while retaining old charm. Loved sitting on the lanai at night listening to the waves.

There are not many “Whispering Pines” remaining on Anna Maria; it is a perfect combination of both the old and the new and less than 100 yards from the beach.

We have visited AMI several times before, although this is the first time we have been this far north on the island. A wonderfully, peaceful setting and a most enjoyable beach house to stay in!

My husband and I loved this home—perfectly appointed to match its 1920’s character and a great private location very near the best part of the gulf beach of Anna Maria. Quiet and charming. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Whispering Pines has everything you could possibly want in an aMI vacation rental home with the exception of swimming pool, but who needs a pool when you are 50 yards from beach access and the Gulf?

Three weeks have passed very quickly! Unfortunately, our second week it was cold—very cold for Florida. But we survived the wind and the rain. Still, there were some beautiful sunsets and lots of good clean air. Love this cottage and beautiful Anna Maria. We’re just sorry that we have to leave just as the weather is turning summer-like again. We hope for better luck next year . . . in our same little cottage!

Our week here at Whispering Pines . . . Sat: We arrived just this afternoon; so did not have all day, but we made the most of the afternoon! Ate subs from Publix (what the kids wanted for dinner) on the beach; went out in the kayak (we rented from Beach Bums); saw a dolphin and fought off some seagulls! Had to tell the girls to get out of water at 9:05pm! Watched beautiful sunset! Glad to be on AMI again—LOVE this cottage! Monday—Saturday (didn’t write nightly as planned)—actually Fri because we left early Sat: We rented kayaks from Beach Bums and there were LOTS of tarpon (big fish) off beach and we were able to go right over them with kayaks! It was cool, they were 5 feet-ish, saw three manatees the first full day on the beach—for a total of five manatees—and lots of dolphins! Turtles at Egmont Key, tarpon and lots of birds—wonderful week. Bought official engagement right—beautiful ring—from fine jewelry store on Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach. Laughed as Ray—Ray was afraid and barked at washing machine. Weather perfect daily except some rain yesterday—lots of family fun—waves actually for last couple of days—back bogey boarding fun on the beach! Loved the house. All-in-all we spent most of time outside here, We loved the porch at night and thanks so much for allowing our four-legged child Ray—Ray to come with us. Most recommended breakfast at Ginny’s & Jane E’s! Probably best waffles ever had—we’d walk there and take Ray-Ray and eat at outside tables! LOVED it! Hate to leave this place! Great food at Pier, Sandbar and Rotten Ralph’s! We LOVE U AMI!

This old Florida cottage is a beautiful reminder of a romantic past. The landscaping, the palms, and the great screened in porch all reflect Florida from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. Thank you for making it available again—and bringing its comforts up to 21st century standards. We will return in 2013!
