We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wave Crest. It epitomized the traditional beach cottage with everything we could possibly need. The views from the enclosed porch offered respite from the heat and a great place to relax. The history of the house and the area were neat and offered a unique experience to recall. Definitely will stay again in the future.

Wave crest is the best beach cottage I have ever stayed in. Old fashion charm and a beautiful view of the beach. We really appreciated having an air conditioned Florida room facing the beach. That helped us escape the heat and still have a wonderful view. We also love the history of the house. So cool. Our stay was perfect.

We were excited about renting Wave Crest due to the pictures and information we had previously received. However, nothing prepared us for this beautiful cottage with the incredible views of both the ocean and sunset! We drove for about 3.5 hours from the east coast and had planned to go to dinner once we settled in to our home for the next week. That changed once we arrived that all changed as we immediately felt so comfortable that we decided we just wanted to settle in and relax. This enabled us to view our first of many sunsets during this week. This was our fourth trip to Anna Maria and we have enjoyed all of our stays there but nothing compares to the week we rented Wave Crest. We hope to come back soon and because of the size of this cottage to bring family or friends with us next time.

What a special visit to Anna Maria for our family. We absolutely loved staying at Wave Crest. The perfect vacation getaway. This lovely home has everything we needed and truly felt like a home away from home. The renovations have been beautifully done to preserve the history of this special place. We love the island and look forward to future visits.

We came back! The new addition and back deck are wonderful, so well done to match the charm of this 50’s cottage! We invited my father and his wife to join us part of the week and had fun showing them the island and going back to our favorite restaurants. The best part though is the location on the beach – for long morning walks, sunny afternoons, and beautiful gulf sunsets. We’d love to return (again)!

Wow! We three girls are ready to move here full time. The renovations are classic and the decorations amazing. We had our first dinner at “Lobstahs,” on Gulf Drive. Delicious! Today we hit the beach for an early morning walk and then on to one of the cute bakeries for brunch. This is definitely a “come back to” place to stay.

We had a fabulous week at Wave Crest. What a surprise to find the brand new addition! It is so beautifully done and fits right in with the original house.

We were the first group to stay at Wave Crest since it was remodeled! WOW! The house is amazing and the decorating is superb. We each had our own room and bath. The kitchen is more than adequate and all the dishes and utensils are new and first class Nice touch on the shuttered windows. The sitting room and back room area are open to the beach with big windows and sliding glass doors. Loved the pocket doors, such a nice nostalgic touch. On our first 2 days we didn’t even need to use the air conditioning, just opened the windows and enjoyed the cool breezes and listened to the sound of the surf. We will definitely be back!!!!! The rental company and staff were very helpful and we were able to print our boarding passes there.

Dear Anna Maria Island by way of Wave Crest, how beautiful this home. There is so much character in this place. It truly has real charm! Our family has been able to really enjoy this cottage due to the extra rainy weather, according to the locals . . . NOT NORMAL! Despite the storms the whole Anderson family is going home freckled and/or tan! We enjoyed the small shops and local history and even traveled down to Longboat Key to Sarasota and St. Armands (very classy and happy there – Beverly Hills of Florida according to our 17 yr. old!) Above all things, God is here. His creation is amazing! So blessed to be able to enjoy Wave Crest and AMI!

We have visited Anna Maria Island for the past five years. After our first year, we were hooked! We absolutely love the island. This was our first year to have a place right on the beach and it has been wonderful. We have enjoyed Wave Crest so much and look forward to coming back next year. It was the perfect beach “get-away” and very nice vacation! Thank you for sharing your beach home with us.

This was our third time to Anna Maria Island but our first time to Wave Crest. We loved your cottage! It was the perfect location to enjoy lazy days on the beach. Swim with manatees and walk to local restaurants. We appreciate that your home was well equipped with all of the essentials (i.e., linens, hangers, beach chairs, wine glasses, etc!). Thank you so very much for sharing your home with us! It is our dream to own a home like this here on this beautiful island some day! We will surely be back! Thanks so much!

Thank you for letting us stay in your adorable home. We relaxed & enjoyed the sun. We enjoy each morning sitting in the chairs and hearing the ocean. You have a beautiful view of the beach. Thank you again.

What was not to love? The house was spectacular. The beach was beautiful and very private. This was the perfect place to celebrate our 34th anniversary. Anna Maria Island and Wave Crest are the perfect place.

Thank you so much for letting us stay here for the second year in a row! We love the area and the house is so cute! The weather was wonderful and we really enjoyed all of our beach days in the sun. We went on a kayak tour, got ice cream and found so many shells. Thanks for the sun hats in the master bedroom, we used them a lot. We also loved all of the boogie boards, the sand swifter, the umbrellas, the chairs and the floaties; they made the beach so much more exciting. The restaurants were all wonderful and we especially enjoy and recommend the waterfront. The TV in the room with the two single beds was nice to have at night and on the stormy days. We saw nine manatees, a sea star, a dolphin, sea rays, interesting fish and lots of birds. We really love this house and are grateful for this opportunity. Thank you!

We love Anna Maria and come here every year. This is the best part of the island in our opinion. This one is special; I bet there are so many who have come here before us who have experienced the majestic beauty outside. The first day on the beach there was a manatee and her cub, we watched dolphins another day. My husband and I can stay on the beach all day. He and my son cast a line and fish. My daughter loves it also. How lucky we are to have the opportunities we have. We are so grateful. Oh, again we love this house.

This was our fourth year at Wave Crest and it didn’t disappoint. We looked for sand dollars, saw dolphins every day, and saw beautiful sunsets. The water was so beautiful – an aqua and so clear. We feel like this is our home away from home in a way. We have celebrated Easter here and our daughter’s birthday. Wave Crest is the true “old Florida gem” and we hope to return again. Thanks for keeping the place looking beautiful and well stocked!

We just had the best spring break we could hope for. Your beautiful 2 bedroom cottage was the perfect size for our family of four. We loved all the amenities and darling seaside décor. The sunsets and proximity to the water, along with being so close to Bean Point, make it the best location on the island. It felt like home to us for the week and we would love to return.

We have been here for almost a month and it flew by so fast! Your home is perfect and we had a wonderful time growing closer together as a family. We never turned the TV on, but spent our time playing cards, enjoying the beach and each other. We hope to come back and stay next year. If you ever wish to sell this beautiful home we would love to talk to you about buying it! It is perfect!!

This is our third year at this beach house. We signed the book back in 2012, skipped last year, but since this is our final stay here as a family, I figured we can at least write something one last time. This house has supplied us with an array of memories, from my sister’s graduation to family visits on the 4th of July. This adorable little house may not have been my favorite (being from Bradenton, the local beach does not seem like much of a vacation), but this house is quite adorable and located nicely. The view is fantastic, and despite my eagerness to leave this morning, I will miss this cottage. It supplied a sense of warmth and a “homey” feel to anyone who stays in it. Thank you for three years of memories.

We came to celebrate our 30th anniversary and this place was amazing! We normally vacation on the Atlantic Coast, so the Gulf was a nice change for us. The sunsets were stunning and this location is perfect. We rode our bikes everywhere. The kinds joined us for part of the week and the house was so comfortable for us. It was the perfect choice and we hope to come back in the future!

We have enjoyed our stay at Wave Crest in Anna Maria and can’t wait to come again. On the first day, it was sunburn weather so we collected shells, got ice cream and hung at the beach with the boogie boards (thanks!). Everyone around here is so friendly and we loved the Waterfront Restaurant. Thank you for supplying the Xbox and the puzzles to entertain us while inside. We also appreciated the recycling, Florida room, and how the “kids” room has two separate beds. Our family enjoyed “our” cute and cozy cottage on the beach! Thanks for sharing your cottage with us!

Our recent stay at Wave Crest was just as pictured and described from the Coastal Cottages site. The rental came with everything to enjoy several days with children on the beach. When the time comes for us to return to AMI we will definitely try to book Wave Crest again.

Wow! We are so glad we came to Anna Maria and stayed at Wave Crest. It is all we could imagine of our dream cottage – beautiful old Florida style, great furnishings, well-furnished kitchen, awesome location and beach. Our 2-year-old daughter played for hours in the sand, while we enjoyed the view, seeing the dolphins and stingrays and picking up shells. We also enjoying touring the island on the colder days. Thanks for sharing the cottage with us. We hope to be back soon, hopefully two weeks this time so we can enjoy AMI even more!

We had a lovely time in your beach cottage. Our children had a wonderful time “beachin” it every day. My husband and I grew up on the east side of Bradenton and have always loved Anna Maria! Your home is charming and we are so happy with our stay! We hope to be back next year!

Thank you for sharing a slice of old Florida. We had a very relaxing week on the beach and found the cottage very comfortable. We appreciate that the current owners have preserved the cottage while surrounded by the demolish/McMansion condo crowd. On the beach we enjoyed the bird colonies, the clear warm water and the cone manatee that went by on numerous occasions. We look forward to returning next year!

We came to Anna Marie Island for a family vacation. Since we have been married (32 yrs.) we have not been able to take a family vacation. Either we had no one to watch our dogs or we had other things that needed to be done around the house so our vacations were spent doing that. This year we decided we needed a family vacation since our youngest would be moving away soon and our grandson is growing up so quickly! We enjoyed every day on the beach, walking around the shops and just spending some quality time with everyone! The Wave Crest was quaint and right on the beach so it was perfect. If we got to warm or tired we just went in the house and relaxed. Then we would go out again and start over! Hopefully next year we will be able to do it again! Thanks Coastal Cottages AMI!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage with our family! We loved everything about this house—from the proximity to the Gulf to the unique and tasteful décor. We spent many sunny days relaxing on the beach, fishing (or attempting to), and riding bikes through the picturesque town. We also really enjoyed the full kitchen and book collection provided. This vacation house was truly a haven from all of the hustle of South Florida. We plan on returning soon!

I was born in Bradenton, Florida, and have very fond memories of my mom taking me and my two brothers to Anna Maria Beach to swim all day while my dad was at work. My mom is now 86 yrs. old and this brought back a lot of good memories for her also. I was thankful the cottage had a walk in shower which was easier for her to use. This cottage was exactly what I was hoping it would be with direct beach access, full kitchen, washer & dryer in the cottage. The only thing that was missing was lounge chairs to lie out in the sun. The chairs outback are a nice plus to relax in and watch the sunset every evening. Thank You for a great stress free vacation with a lot of new memories.

Thank you for sharing your quiet little cottage.

If you want the beach as your back yard, along with a quiet and empty beach, you just found it. This house was perfect for my wife and I and our two daughters. Having been to Mexican all-inclusive resorts twice, my daughters said they actually enjoyed this more. It was so relaxing and being able to look at the beach and water before bed and we woke up was incredible. The sand is so fine, you won’t find this many other places. We were there on Spring Break and the beach had very few people on it. We did see dolphins, but the truly unique thing was the group of 12 stingrays that swam back and forth along the beach each day. They bothered no one and avoided people, but you stand just feet from them and watch as they swam by. The house was stocked with every item we could have hoped for and is exactly as the photos on www.coastalcottagesami.com show. I used the grill to cook dinner several evenings as I enjoyed a great view. The beach chairs are exactly as shown and make it a true paradise. This is a truly unique beach community and this house made it affordable for my family to live on the beach for a week. You need to get to the beach early if you want to be the first to collect sand dollars and the larger shells. I’ve rented homes in other areas and have often found how the pictures were “creatively” taken to make the place look better than it was, the pictures you see for this house is exactly as you will find it. The ad says no Wi-Fi, but the house does have it.

My husband and I stayed for one week of heavenly bliss! We have been married for 21 years and this was like a second honeymoon. Wave Crest is historical, homey, comfortable, and the location is outstanding. These are my fondest memories of the cottage and Anna Maria Island: sunrise, sunset, sea shell collecting, long walks to Bean Point, adorable antiques and island ocean furnishings, looking out the lanai windows, the bird colonies, golf cart riding on the island, Rod and Reel Pier, Sandbar Restaurant, kayaking, snorkeling, Egmont Island, historical ambiance of the woodwork and the family! Thank you for letting us be a part of Wave Crest history!

Thank you for sharing Wave Crest with us again. Every day was filled with new adventures and opportunities. Every sunset was unique. Your cottage was very comfortable. We were able to sample your AC, heat, and open windows . . . the weather was quite diverse. Everything worked out well! We only have 11 1/2 months until our return . . . let the countdown begin!

Thank you for the use of this lovely island retreat. We’ve enjoyed shelling, finding sand dollars, watching dolphins, and some beautiful sunsets. Our trip ended up to be somewhat bittersweet, as out 13-year-old beloved Golden Retriever became very ill at home and had to be helped into heaven while we were here. Every time we saw a dolphin or a glorious sunset, we felt Bear’s presence. We hope to return someday.

This past week has been amazing. This house was the perfect place to spend 4th of July week. The view was incredible, and we had fun sitting in the colorful beach chairs to watch the sunsets. We were able to bike to the piers and all the little shops that were close by. While snorkeling, we found over 100 full sand dollars! This part of northern Anna Maria is very peaceful and quiet. Being from this area, it was great just to come out here and enjoy the place we call home. We already booked the house for next summer and we can’t wait to come back!

This welcoming beach house was the most perfect place we can imagine for us on Anna Maria. We have rented many beach houses on North Shore, but this is our favorite. We all want to move-in and stay forever; it’s priceless in all aspects. We relaxed, played, and slept and ATE, when we went out (Mote Aquarium, Ringling Museums, Sarasota) we couldn’t wait to return and hope for the chance to come back after. Thank you for sharing your beach house with us.

We have a fantastic week! It was our family’s first spring break and first “Beach Vacation”. Luke, Grace and Charlotte had so much fun on the beach. They built sandcastles, looked for seashells, and watched the dolphins. Charlotte mostly enjoyed eating the sand and playing with all the coasters in the house. Grace turned four this week on the beach. Thank you for “lending” us your cottage.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! If a more perfect place exists in the world, I can’t imagine where it might be! Our family loved staying in your darling pink beach cottage perfectly located for sun, sand, and spectacular sunsets. We found 27 sand dollars (full ones!); over a dozen living starfish, and the dolphins were so playful they swan right up near the shore between the swimmers putting on an amazing show! We rented bikes from Beach Bums and rode all over the island—such a friendly, easy, small town feel. With 3 teens (16, 13, 11) we know these times for our growing family are precious and fleeting. Thanks for helping us make amazing memories!

We LOVED our little beach bungalow! It was the perfect escape for a vacation this spring. The view was spectacular at day and night. We loved sitting outside after dinner, watching the stars. This is (most of) our first right in Anna Maria, we usually vacation in Siesta Key. We enjoyed the quaint, quiet feel of this town and beautiful beach. Thank you for opening your home to us. We truly had a lovely time and hope to visit again next year (maybe for a longer stay)!

We have been coming down to Anna Maria for a long time and are so lucky to have found this wonderful house. Old Florida at its best! Walking out to the beautiful beach, shelling, dolphin and bird watching were so much fun. Such a close walk to the piers, shops and restaurants that we love. Thanks for such a wonderful vacation. Hope to be back next year.

This is my first time out of Wisconsin. It took us three days and many diaper changes to finally get here. I love “my” beach house. I love “my” beach. I love “my” Gulf. I especially like not having to wear a heavy coat, books, scarf and hat. We were able to stay here for 14 sunrises in February 2012. My Poppop Tom and Gamma Andi drove our dogs and me to this wonderful giant sandbox. My mommy and daddy flew in Jay Jay the Jet to be with is for seven sunsets. We all loved sleeping in the comfortable beds. We even go to sleep with the windows open. There was always a wind blowing through the windows when it was time for my pretend afternoon nap. I took more showers here than I ever took in my whole life. Adult-types were always making sure I was clean. The 2 showers in “my” beach house worked nice. I even used the shower outside. The electric stuff worked great in “my” beach house. I was able to Skype with family and friends that were still stuck in Wisconsin. The WiFi (whatever that means) worked great for all my family. The DVD player and X-BOX 360 were fun to use too. I “pretty-pleased” my family to come here again next year. They said “YES”. I hope next year comes soon. I hope my beach sandals are dry by then. I love playing in the snow, but playing in the sand is a bit “MORE FUNNER.”
