Island Hideaway East was added to our list of loved locations on AMI. As our kids have gotten older, being a short walk to the beach and a few strides from the trolley are fantastic. We love not having to stop at an office to get the keys, and when we had trouble with a garbage disposal, two very nice guys were out within a day to get the problem taken care of. We had everything we needed for a home away from home.

We absolutely loved our first visit to AMI and the Hideaway East was perfect. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and the most comfortable beds. Plenty of hangers in the closets which so many rentals lack – big plus point for me! Easy walk to the beach and a few restaurants with the trolley stops also nearby. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this gorgeous place to anyone and we hope to return soon!

Wonderful family home. Ideal for the four of us. Small pool, but kids loved it. Only a 3 to 4 minute walk from the beautiful Holmes Beach. This is an ideal place for a chill out holiday. Would definitely go back.

Yet another great stay at Hideaway East, the house/pool are immaculately presented and perfect for a family of 4 maximum, it’s only 5 minutes to a superb beach and 20 yards from the trolley stop (north bound) and two block (south bound). All the amenities in the home are great. Recommend the Rod ‘n Reel for great fish, say hello to Clarence and also the City Pier. The Sandbar is perfect for that sunset meal. You will not be disappointed by any aspect of this wonderful house and fantastic island.

This summer our family stayed at Island Hideaway East for a week in early July. This was our first visit to Anna Maria, but we now plan on coming back every summer! The house was perfect for us. It was clean, up to date, and very comfortable! Everything we needed was provided for us, and we were very impressed with a beach house that didn’t have 1980’s decor in it! It was a very short walk to the beach, and no major roads to cross (which was a huge bonus because our daughters are young), it was also very close to downtown Anna Maria and the piers. Having a private pool and outdoor shower was another huge plus for everyone. I would definitely recommend this property and Coastal Cottages to anyone looking for a vacation home.

Coastal Cottages AMI was good to work with. Made reservations easily. Home was nice. Decorated cute for the island. Home was clean except for under the beds. Floors could have had a little more TLC. Needed better instructions on the TV. Had a hard time with getting a signal on the cable. The cable co. was wonderful to work with. Loved the location. Two blocks from the beach. Close to shopping and dining. Loved the private pool. Steps to the house could be difficult for elderly.

The weather was sunny, mid to upper 80s—Beautiful! We had fun at the beach and had happy hour daily at the pool! We also took a “dolphin cruise” and found awesome sea-life! Rod & Reel Pier, Slims, and the Sandbar had amazing seafood and burgers (slims). Best Thing about this trip was the time spent with my family—priceless.

We loved lazing by and being in the pool, walking the fantastic beach, and relaxing after Orlando. We saw dolphins in the sea—awesome! The weather was humid with heavy thunderstorms—too humid at times.

We love AMI, we have been here lots of times and it has never let us down. The weather was mostly hot and sunny, then the typical Florida august storms. We swam in the sea and pool, caught up on some reading, ate, and general holiday lazing about. Some improvements—shaking shower! Some new sheets for the bed. Lovely house for two.

The weather was PERFECT! We loved fishing on the bay, riding bikes, sitting on the beach, sleeping in, taking naps, watching movies, eating food, and swimming. We also spent a day on a boat and saw a shark (Jamie almost caught it!), rays, and dolphins. Some of the best moments were eating filet mignon and lobster, having peach margaritas, my lovely wife and our honeymoon! We had a WONDERFUL week! Thanks so much!

This was a second time on AMI, love it here, sunsets like no others! The weather was FAB! Very hot with some amazing night time storms. Cloudy/rainy later in our stay. We had fun in the pool and played in the sea, watched beautiful sunsets, went to mote aquarium, and hired a boat. We saw lovely shellfish and sand dollars, dolphins and fish. We went to Starfish Grill for grouper. Would have liked a mirror in the master bedroom, and the internet connection is patchy! We will be back—would stay in this house again—perfect.

We stayed here for a week and it was wonderful! Beautifully decorated with good quality furnishings. Beds were very comfortable. No mis-matched furnishings here! They have done a great job of outfitting their home with the comfort of their guests in mind! Nice appliances in the kitchen, Pottery Barn shower curtain and duvet covers/shams on the beds. You can tell the owners truly care about this home—everything has been nicely maintained. It was an easy walk to the beach and the pool was great! The landscaping in the back yard was beautiful. The location is ideal—nearby beach is not as crowded as the public beaches, and the neighborhood is quiet and a quick drive from the grocery store and some of the best restaurants on the island!

We loved the beach and the pool! We did lots of swimming and relaxed in the peace and quiet. The weather was hot and sunny—upper 80s to mid-90s. We ate at the Sandbar and had ice cream at Holy Cow.

We did a lot of things while we were here, including beachcombing, fishing charter, Busch Gardens, miniature golf, swimming in the ocean and pool, alligator airboat ride, and much more! We loved the beautiful white sand beaches and tiny lizards by the pool. We were surprised that you did not need helmets on bikes or motorcycles in FLA :( and one night we had heavy rain that flooded the roads! The weather was hot (mid to upper eighties). We loved spending time together in such a beautiful place! We would love to return someday—THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!

This is our third time on Anna Maria and this is the nicest place we have stayed in! The weather was amazing! No rain and the perfect temperature for two Brits in Florida—bearable heat! We went parasailing, saw a baseball game, ate a lot, got red in the sun, and were the palest people at the beach!

We really appreciate the clean, comfortable, and attractive house. We were able to relax and enjoy a great vacation. The weather was very hot for us—mid 80s! Beautiful sunshine, a little rain but even that was hot, and mostly at night. We took the Trolley all the way to Sarasota to book shops and Whole Foods Market. We shopped at Ellenton and went to the Manatee Patchworks Quilt Exhibitions in Bradenton. We also saw the Island Player/Manatee Player’s Johnny Cash Show. We love walking along the beach here on the Island. This was our fourth trip to beautiful Anna Maria Island and we are still finding new things to do. This is our best accommodation yet. We discovered Tortilla Bay for good, cheap, and quick food. (Thanks Sandy and Time for recommending) We ate wonderful seafood at Starfish in Cortez twice. Recommend Bridge Street Bistro for formal dining, especially at sunset. Kept in touch with family using the PCs at the library.

We loved having the private pool and lizards to entertain us! The food and sunset at the Sandbar was fantastic, also we would recommend the Tex Mex place in the plaza for cheap, fast, and good food. We love the quaint shops and beautiful beach in the wonderful weather—80’s and sunny! We also went to the spring training games for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

We all had a great time! We collected shells at the beach, loved the pool, and went sightseeing and to the Sandbar. The weather was wonderful and sunny! Guest Book entry by Heidi, Martin, Olivia, and Benjamin from Ontario, Canada, for their stay in 2/2012
Glorious weather! Mostly sunny and in the 70s. We walked the beaches, saw shells, swam, and enjoyed bicycling the whole island. We loved watching the sunsets every night. We spent one day in Sarasota for theater, Ringling Museum, and Selby Botanical Gardens. Everyone was very friendly!

We had a wonderful time shopping, eating out, the beach, and going to the Red Barn Flea Market. The weather was beautiful! 70-80 and sunny. Our favorite restaurant is the Sandbar. You can walk to eat and they have an early bird menu.

We enjoyed the awesome weather and spent a lot of time on the beach and in the pool. We also had many great meals at home and in restaurants, like Mr. Bones! We hope that we someday can spend most of the winter here in Florida, but now we have to return to a cold and snowy Sweden BRRRRR!

We stayed here with our 2 children aged 4 & 2 and had a simply fantastic holiday. The apartment was tastefully decorated and was very light and airy. The furniture was new throughout and the owner had considered every last detail. in particular, the apartment was very child friendly, and our kids had an absolute ball. The beach is a leisurely 3 minute stroll (with kids) and is one of those beaches you only ever read about in magazines – miles of golden sand, not too many people and very blue, clean sea. This is a superb apartment to stay in if you’re looking for a relaxed holiday, with a great interior, beautiful garden & pool and extremely close to the beach. 10 out 10!!

We stayed at the house after a great cruise vacation and although we did have high expectations we were afraid that after all the luxury on the ship it would be hard to top it . . . but the house really did live up to our expectations and more! The house fit our whole family, two adults, one teenager and three children, which we aren’t used to. The house was nice, clean and the service great with the manager showing up at the door to give a helping hand. The area was great, nice and calm and close to the beach where we got to see dolphins two out of four days. Too bad the water in the sea was too cold though to take a swim, but I guess that is not a part of the review of the house!? However, it made us appreciate the heated pool even more. One thing that should be mentioned for parents with small children is that the pool was particularly good for our two year old since one part of the pool was not deep at all and there was a plateau for him to sit on and play. I would say the he enjoyed the pool at the house more than the one on the ship! He looked like a raisin in the end of the day when he (unwillingly) had to get up! For people who like fishing there is a marina nearby where you can go on trips for a whole or half day. There are several boats to choose from. We went with Captain Greg Dargie Sunrise Fishing, who did everything in his power to help us catch fish on a slow day, and we did! Since the reason for us going to Florida was to go on the cruise, we consider the cruise as the main course. However, our stay in the house on beautiful Anna Maria Island was like a delicious desert that gave us the perfect ending of our stay in Florida. (Please excuse me if I have any grammatical errors in the text however I hope the essence of my review is clear enough though)

My boyfriend and I, along with his sister and brother-in-law, spent a week on AMI in early January and I can’t rate this house highly enough.
Check-in (and out) couldn’t have been simpler and our home for the week was spotless when we arrived . . . always a bonus when the reality outstrips the pictures. I also have to agree with the previous reviewer about the bed in the master suite, I swear I didn’t want to leave it behind! The pool area is absolutely lovely; it provides plenty of shade if needed and also blocks out a chill wind on slightly cooler days. The house provides everything you could really ask for . . . Position wise, the house is only a couple of minutes walk from the beach, and a glorious beach it is too. We hired bikes from Beach Bums on Pine Avenue and spent a fair few evenings watching the sun go down at the Sandbar, I’m hard-pushed to think of a better place to watch the sunset from. AMI provided what we wanted, which was sunshine and a great place to unwind; I’d wholeheartedly recommend it for a holiday where relaxation is the key ingredient, this isn’t the island to go if you’re looking for mass tourism and all that goes with it.

This is a great house you won’t be disappointed, a 3 minute walk down the road to the white sandy beach – watch the dolphins go by and look for shells. The master bed was very comfy, I now always look for vacation homes with pillow top mattresses! Well equipped kitchen and good pool. Nigel was friendly and efficient to deal with. One small hint – perhaps put some details in re local restaurants and shops. Great time had, many thanks.

We had a great time, AMI is such a wonderful place, great beaches, excellent food and amazing sun sets. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the villa, spending many hours in the pool with the children. We can honestly say that the master bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. The children absolutely loved the bar in the games room, My wife and I had poolside waiter service all day long. The property is in a wonderful location, we walked to watch the sun sets most evenings we were there. The beach was a couple of minutes walk away. The pool area was private and caught the afternoon sun perfectly. Check-in and check-out was easy. Overall we were very happy with our stay.
