It’s all about location, location, location and you couldn’t ask for better than Coquina Moorings. Located on (noisy) Gulf Drive, within walking distance from beach-front restaurants and busy Bridge Street, you get the quiet and beautiful bay in the back and the spectacular Gulf view out front. For the convenience of the location, and the views, I would not hesitate to stay in this condo complex again. However, I had some issues with #203. From the pictures, I didn’t realize the size disparity regarding the lanais. There is a huge bay view from the larger living room lanai and a much smaller gulf view from the guest bedroom lanai. After the sun comes out over the bay it gets very bright and hot but there is usually a breeze and it feels wonderful. The Gulf-side lanai is nice due to the view (although limited) but very noisy due to the car traffic (especially on weekends). So overall each lanai has its pluses and minuses. The condo was spacious, clean and comfortable but needs updates especially in the master bathroom . . . Outside the condo, the covered parking is appreciated and the pool was clean and nice. The fishing/boat pier offers a great view of the bay and an occasional bird spotting. The location is convenient to getting to Longboat Key, Sarasota, and Siesta Beach. I am glad we stayed at the south end of the island versus the north end for these reasons and the convenience of walking to so many places. I would not hesitate to stay at Coquina Moorings but hope that 203 gets updated before we return.

This is an inside unit but one would never know. With the beach right across from you and a pool in the back along with fishing/boating docks, we really did not spend much time inside. The accommodations were comfortable and the restaurants within walking distance were very good. Prices were reasonable and young children were made to feel very welcome. Coastal Cottages AMI were outstanding to work with and they get a five-star recommendation as well.
